Utah Bound

While we are SO sad that our good friend's, the Walker's, moved away from us a few years back, we are SO grateful that they live in Pendelton...right on our way to Utah.

Pit stopping at their house is the best!!!

And this go 'round did not disappoint. We love spending time with them.

They live, literally, right next door to McKay Reservoir. And they have a ski boat!

I'm only slightly jealous...

So, we spent the day tubing and enjoying the sunshine. And I even managed to get up on the surf board!!!

The kids had a blast. The adults had a blast.

It was so sad to say goodbye:(

  See, super sad!

From Pendelton the drive into Salt lake City is about 8 hours. Because we had way too much fun in Pendelton we ended up getting on the road way later than anticipated. So we rolled into Utah at 2:00 in the morning. But it was so worth it!

Salt Lake Temple. Such a beautiful, peaceful place.

I love this pic. It's a reflection of The Old Tabernacle in the windows of Deseret Book Company. Then the handcart in the foreground just makes the image that much neater.

We spent most of our time with lots and lots of family. This day we hung out with my cousin Emily and her sweet kiddos. Both Eli and Ivy braved the high dive at their local pool. By the way, Utah rec center pools are AMAZING.

Oregon could learn a few things from Utah on the cheap, fun, family activities front.

Cousin love.

I LOVE my cousin Bec and her family so much. We were two peas in a pod growing up and it still feels that way whenever we get the chance to hang out.  I wish we lived closer to them!

  Bec & I.

We drove to Provo with lots of cousins and spent the day at Seven Peaks. Way fun!

Em and I took our clan to down town Salt Lake City to the Children's Museum.

And Rocky Mountain Chocolate for ice cream cones.

It had been YEARS since I went to a drive in movie theater, as in, not since I was a kid. A double feature of Swiss Family Robinson and Bambi: I remember it well! And my kids had never experienced one, so when my cousin Kami invited us to go we had to say YES!

It was so much fun...until our battery died and we had to be jump started:)
