Vernonia

We bought a trailer this Summer. It's something we've been wanting to do for a couple of years now. So, when Matt found an awesome deal on a 2007 bank repo we jumped at the opportunity.

Lame me got no pics of it though. Oh well! It's in great condition and sleeps 6-8. Yipee!

We had a wonderful time spending two night at Anderson Park in Vernonia.

And sleeping in a trailer is way more comfy than sleeping in a tent!

I have to admit I like the trailer more than I ever thought I would.

And I love that we can use it in year round.

We love this area of Vernonia.
This is where Rock Creek meets the Nehalem River. It's shallow and safe and cold as heck.
But on a hot, sunshiney day it feels awesome!
And the best part is it's less than an hour away, so it can easily become a day trip.

Below: Matt and the kids searching for crawdad's.

 Rylie relaxing on the jetty.

 My sweet Ivy girl.

The crawdad's kept Eli busy for hours.

And he found it hilarious to scare Ivy with them.

This deer snuck out of the tree's long enough to squat, do his business and go on his way.
We were glad the current was heading away from us!

Matt, the keeper of the river.
Some local's brought this air mattress to the river. The kids had a BLAST jumping on and off of it, and it never popped. It's a little white trashish, but we might steal the idea anyways:)

Can't go camping without roasting hotdogs and s'mores over a campfire!
Ivy even roasted some Nacho Cheese Bugles.

There are some great walking/biking trails in Vernonia.
 Ivy smelling a Morning Glory:)
As you walk along the trails there are some really neat abandoned buildings to explore.
Some of the graffiti is pretty cool, too.
