I've Got Georgia On My Mind

Why in the world would we choose to go to Georgia?!?

Well, let me tell you why.

Matt's sister Pauline and her sweet family have lived there for 5 years now and we had never been to visit them. A couple of years ago Matt and I decided that we would go visit out of state family every other year. Family must be a priority!

So, the first year we did this we went to Virginia to visit Ben & Emily and their kiddos.

And this year it was decided that we would go and visit Pauline and Gordon and their kids.

Matt had been able to go see them for maybe a day while on business trip's. But the kids and I had never been there before.

 Sophi, you're so weird!

We flew through the night of July 3rd, so we would be there in time to celebrate the 4th of July.

The first thing I noticed about the area of Georgia Pauline and Gordon live in (Dallas, Georgia) was how quiet and peaceful it was.
I can see how it would quickly feel like home.

Checking out the fireworks out in front of Pauline and Gordon's home.

Holy heck real estate is CHEAP in Georgia. I am slightly jealous about it still.

  Happy Independence Day!

The day after the 4th we drove into Savannah.
 This is my Savannah boyfriend.

We kept running into him and every time he would choose to talk to me. Not anyone else, just me. It was so funny! And every time, he would look me in the eye and tell me to have a wonderful weekend. He was nice enough, but it was obvious he wasn't all there either.

I ran into him two days in a row and both times he was wearing the exact same short shorts.

And a butt shot for ya:)
 Pretty Ivy.

Below: Lots of shots of Savannah. The old architecture was so gorgeous. And the moss growing from the trees was absolutely beautiful. Wow.

And of course we had to stay in a hotel with a pool!

Leopold's ice cream is supposedly rated in the top 10 best ice creams in the nation.

It was good, but definitely not worth standing in a really long line for. We didn't get what the hype was about. But, ice cream is always good on a hot day, so it was still fun.

One our last full day in Georgia we drove into Helen, Georgia and did some tubing on the Chattahoochee river. Chattahoochee is the funnest word to say. And it goes perfect with the words hoochie coochie. Ha!

So. Much. Fun!

It was my favorite day in Georgia.

We had a lot of fun trying all the southern cuisines.

Fried okra, collard greens, biscuits & chicken, peaches &  boiled peanuts to name a few.
