It's been awhile since I updated the happenings in our family.
We've been busy!
Eli participated in the Pinewood Derby for his scout troop. This year they combined it with the Blue & Gold banquet. Some other scout tradition that I honestly don't know much about. But I do know that it usually entails food and cakes made by the boys. It was fun!
Elis' cake. It won the Blue & Gold award. I think because he decorated it with blue and gold. Sophia claims she did most of the work on the cake, but we won't tell.
Eli and daddy made the cool yellow hummer. It didn't race so well, but it looked pretty awesome! Any tips on how to get the stinkin' car to go faster?
Ivy LOVES the monkey bars.
I can hardly believe my baby is almost 7!
Sophia participated in Mountain Fest this year. A little talent/hobby fest that the middle school puts on every year. She and her friends hosted a beauty booth. They offered everything hair and nails. It was a popular table! Even for the crazy boys who wanted their nails painted.
They had a blast and it was fun watching them socialize.
All I can say is that 6th graders are funny weird!
Ivy had fun at this painting booth. And Eli couldn't get enough of the rat booth. No picture of that though. Let's just say that he is obsessed with the idea of getting a pet rat of his own. Yuck!
(before)
Sophia came to beauty school with me last Friday.
I told her she could be my mannequin head. Which means that I could do anything to her head that I would do on a mannequin head. She obliged.
First we put a demi permanent color on her hair (washes out in about 8 or so weeks).
It was called Cinnamon.
(after)
We really like how it turned out.
Then I permed her hair. But didn't put any perm solution on it. My instructor still let me pass it off. Yippee!
Sophia refused to let me take a picture, so this is the best I could get :)
After we removed the perm rods we decided that her hair color needed a little bit of sassy.
So we did a black shadowbox. Also with wash out color.
It turned out awesome.
Then on Friday night me and Lyndee hosted a girls night.
First we ate dinner at Spaghetti Factory.
Yum!
Then we moved the party to my house where we ate dessert and talked until midnight.
Too much fun!
On Sunday it was our turn to host the monthly Tripp family dinner.
( sophia, sariah, mo)
I was impressed to see the girls working on their homework. Especially with all the noise!
And it was NOISY!
Greg & Melinda brought Italian sodas. The passion-fruit/watermelon was the best!
Grammy and Papa Tripp
Lori, Shule, Joseph and Spencer.
My crazy sister shaved her head to support one of her best friends who is fighting leukemia.
Not everyone would do that for a friend.
I think it's pretty cool. And I know her friend loves that she's not the only bald one.

Cousins.
I love that the cousins adore each other.

y'all are having too much fun over there!!
I love that you took your daughter to school with you! How fun!
As far as the Pinewood Derby cars...I know you want it to weigh the max and the farther back and higher up the weight, the faster it goes. We are relieved to not have to do it this year!
How fun to have the whole family over.
