On The Polar Express

Grammy Gold always knows just what to do to create fun family memories. She decided this year to give us all an early Christmas gift and take us on The Polar Express. And of course we had to do it Grammy Gold style! She supplied us all with matching red robes; each one with our name embroidered in gold. Grammy doesn't do anything mediocre. Nope. Not when it comes to her family. I'm sure we were the talk of the train. Imagine 26 people: 11 adults & 15 kids all marching onto that train wearing the same red robe. It was a sight to behold.

The hot cocoa and cookies that were served were delish. Because it was getting pretty dark by the time we pulled out of the train station, the view wasn't much, but just being on the train was fun and full of magic for the kids. Especially when the train conductor announced that we were at the North Pole. And when you looked out the window there were lots of Christmas lights, elves waving and Santa! The middle picture is Ivy's reaction when she saw Santa. So precious! Yes, the real Santa, with a real beard, who boarded the train with his elves and stopped and talked to each and every one of the children. Magic.

Santa gave each child a little bell and had them ring it. And of course, just like in the movie, the kids all started chanting, We Believe! We Believe!

And let's not forget about the bum or the ticket puncher. They were there, too.

We all had a wonderful time. And I think most of us would agree that we loved sharing it together.

Thanks for the memories, Grammy. We will never forget.
