I love traditions. Traditions that are simple and fun. I love the idea of knowing that next year I can look forward to celebrating that same tradition again. And again the year after. It makes me happy.
And one of those traditions is actually a fairly new one, but one that I already love and want to see happen every year. My siblings and I started it last year. This year Mom and Dad were invited. So, I guess you could call it a Tripp family tradition.
The tradition goes something like this:
Meet at Old Town Pizza at noon for lunch.
Oh, and it has to be some time in early December.
Enjoy the awesome food and being together as a family.
All the ladies go to the bathroom together. Camera's must be in hand. Because you never know if Nina, the ghost who haunts Old Town Pizza, might be lurking. And sometimes ghosts show up in pictures, ya know. Plus, there is safety in numbers. And that bathroom is CREEPY!
This year when I came out of the toilet room, Mom was no where to be found. I wanted to go upstairs to find her because she had my camera. When I went to leave the bathroom with my sisters the closet door by the exit door slightly opened. All by itself. Seriously. It freaked me out, so I turned around and high tailed it back towards the toilet room/ sink area. I was so freaked out that all I could do was laugh. Then I determined that Mom really hadn't left the bathroom at all. It was she who lurked in the closet. So I bravely found my way to the closet door and very cautiously opened it. And there was Mom. Crazy lady! And that closet was dark and creepy, too. Brave, brave Momma. We all had a good laugh. My sister got it on video. Too funny!
And that's where the tradition ends.
Simple and fun.
Aaron made us laugh with his impersonation of Napolean Dynamite.
After lunch we said our goodbyes.
Matt and I decided that we wanted to explore Portland a little bit on our own.
We laughed when we came upon this dog waiting for it's owner outside of a store.
China Town
Large Elephant
Cool old building we found.
And then when we walked to the other side we noticed that it was for sale.
I think it would make for a charming hotel.
