I loved Rylie's teacher Ms. Yager. She was so gentle with the kids and helped them to believe in their abilities.

For an end of the year project the kids all got to choose a topic and then were told to research their topic from A-Z. They got to be the author and illustrator and at the end they all published their very own hard bound books. Rylie worked so hard at researching and making her illustrations beautiful. She even opted to miss recess once in awhile to make sure that she was on track.

An example of her J and K pages.

On the last day of school we were invited to attend a publishing party where the young authors got to read their masterpiece. I am so proud of how hard Rylie worked on her book. It will be a fun treasure to look back on over the years.

Rylie and her friend Brooke. They had some fun times throughout the year. I can't believe that next year will be Rylie's last in elementary school!

What an awesome teacher to do such an awesome project for her students! Treasure that book always.
Her teacher sounds great. That is such a cute idea--Rylie will love having that. How are things with school out? Glad for the break of routine or crazy with all the kids around?
that is such a great idea. i heard about the kids being able to this and i think it is wonderful!
is rylie really that old? crazy!
Great work Rylie!
How can it be that that little 2-year-old boy who pushed that little 2-year-old girl in a toy car almost to Farmington Road (yikes) will be 5th graders?!?!?!?!?
Kenny had her last year. She's a great teacher! What was the topic of Rylie's book?

I was a little nervouse to do the publishing party but it payed off all the hard work. I LOVE Ms. Yager and am going to miss her alot. I am proud of my hard work and efort i put into my book because it turned out great. That was my favorite project of the whole year expecially because of all the drawing we got to do.
Ms.Yager was so nice this year on the Oregom Trail this year because she made it easyer for us and we all made it and last year none of her students made it. I LOVE fourth grade!
I love your posts. I have been trying to catch up on your Belize trip. Ben and I want to go there next year. I think we'll just keep following you to all of your destinations. Your children are growing so fast.
Is fifth or sixth grade the last year of elementary in Oregon? I wish I could come with my parents to visit next month. I miss you guys.
Way to go Rylie, keep up the hard work ~ it always pays off!
Awesome job, Rylie!! I can't believe she's almost out of elementary school either. It seems like she was only 4-5 years old when we first met you guys, if not younger. Seems like she should still be that age.
I can't believe she is going to middle school. Are you old enough for that?!
