The school year seemed to whiz right on by this year, which means before I knew it it was time for dance recitals!
Rylie and Ivy decided to stick with Heidi's Creative Dance. This is a place they have been dancing for years now. It's been so good in helping them discover new talent and bolster up their self esteem. Heidi does an amazing job with her girls:)
Sophia had decided before this semester of dance started that she was ready to try something new. She wanted something a little more fast paced! Which, to be honest, goes right along with her zany personality:)
So, she started taking Jazz/Contemporary classes at Encore Performing Arts Center.
It was a good experience for her and it's something she wants to keep pursuing.
It was very interesting to see how different the recitals were!
I love the quaintness of Miss Heidi's studio. I like how the action is up close and personal. And I love that the recital's are FREE!
Sophia performed at The Venetian, in downtown Hillsboro. It's a gorgeous theater that has been beautifully restored and it has tons of charm. I actually really love the atmosphere there.
It was fun to see her up on a big stage, but it was very hard to get good pictures.
Sorry, Sophi!
Her recital tickets were 8.00 per person and at first each performer was only allotted 3 tickets. That was frustrating as it didn't even cover our little family. Plus we had Grammy and Papa that wanted to come as well as our niece Ashley. So, I had to put in a request for extra tickets and we had to wait until the day before the recital to get word that extra tickets were even available. Lucky for us, there were plenty of extra's and it didn't end up being that big of a deal. But, none the less, it was frustrating.
All in all, both studio's are great. Just very different.
