I was NOT ready for Summer to end. I love the lazy days of Summer. They bring me happiness! And I really like having my kids home. Like, REALLY, REALLY like it. I like making last minute decisions between important Summer activities, like, "Should we go to the park or go get samples at Costco?" If life were always so simple! But I guess if Summer was always Summer I wouldn't appreciate those 2 1/2 blissful months. That being said, as much as I love my children, I would never choose to home school. And I don't want to go to jail for not sending my kids to their educational institutions. I wonder if that could really happen? Anyways, so off to school my kids must go.
Rylie Ann. My high schooler.
That's impossible!
She is loving high school. A few tears were shed about all the homework in her AP Human Geography class this week. But she came home beaming today that she thinks she did really well on the vocabulary words test. Phew.
Sophia. The 7th grader.
This girl loves middle school. Last year she stated that middle school was the best thing that ever happened to her. She loves her teachers and thrives on making new friends. It slightly freaks me out how much more grown up she looks this year, though!
Eli. The 4th grader & Ivy. The 2nd grader.
They both got awesome teachers this year. Eli is in Mrs.Cutts class and Ivy got Mr. Mack.
I cannot believe that next year Eli will be in his last year of elementary school. What!?!
Ivy ended up not getting a lot of her cute little friends in her class this year, but she has kept a smile on her face and has been making some new friends. And she gets to see her best friends on the playground at recess.
This year is gonna be great.

I agree, it is always hard to say goodbye to summer, but getting back to school is a good thing. Your kids all look so cute. I forgot to get a 1st day of school picture of Ian (not thinking about details like that at 6:30a.m.) Jeff got a quick picture of Ellie and Anders as they were driving away. That will have to count.
I think you are right - if everyday was summer we wouldn't appreciate those 2 1/2 months.
Your kids look ready for a great school year.
Awesome kids! I'm with ya, i love having my kids at home too. Life is easier in the summer.
I CANNOT believe how big your kids are! I remember when Rylie and Sophi were babies! Wow how time flies.
