While we were in Utah we decided to go explore Zion National Park. It did not disappoint. The scenery was magical and the hiking so beautiful. Temps topped out at 103, which made for some hot hiking! Luckily the hikes we chose involved water at various points, so we were able to cool off. We hiked the Kayenta Trail, Upper Emerald Pool Trail and River Walk Trail. The kids did awesome, but pushing them to do the last hike about put them over the edge. We hiked a little over 5 miles that day, so the kids were tired. As were the parents.
Now I can't wait to go back with Matt and hike The Narrows. It's my goal to do it before I turn 40, or maybe for my 40th birthday.
And I'll end with my favorite quote of the day by Eli:
" Hey, you wanna know why the rocks are red?
'Cause the devil poured ketchup on 'em."

What amazing memories you are creating for your kids. They will be talking about this one for years to come.
Beautiful! Just like your family.
It looks like a great trip. You got some incredible shots! I just love the variety of landscape in Utah. I'm thinking you put a lot of miles on your car though!
