Ballet For A Day

Ivy changed her mind about wanting to be a dancer. The story of how that came about is so sweet.

Last week she accompanied her friend Mylie to dance. It was just supposed to be to drop her off. Mylie was feeling afraid and started to cry. It was the first day of dance and Mylie didn't know anybody in her class. Ivy held her hand and told her she would stay with her. The dance teacher was touched by Ivy's kindness and asked  if she wanted to join dance, just for the day. Ivy stayed right next to her friend and did split leaps and twirls...all in her jeans.

I was filled with happiness as Mylie's mom told me what a good friend Ivy had been to her daughter. Because that's the kind of soul we're working so hard to raise.

And when she got home she beamed with excitement and asked if she could please be in dance class. I explained to her that it was past time to sign up, but that we could try. So, I called her dance teacher and asked if there was any way Ivy could join the class.

And Miss Heidi made all of Ivy's, 6 year old, wildest dreams come true.

Such a happy ending to this beautiful tale.
