Pillow Pets were on everybody's list this year. And because Grammy Gold is all about spoiling her offsprings offspring, every grandchild got one. Rylie the Unicorn, Eli the Dog, Sophia the Panda and Ivy the Penguin. I for one thought the Lady Bug was adorable, but Grammy insists it looks like the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland.
Jim & Clarka had our family this year. We do a rotation thing with the Gold family. They gave us lots of boxes with funny little toys and such in them with a clue. The clues led us to the biggest box. Inside was an Obama mask for Matt with a clue that read, "What we got you~ you will have to make a decision and it will not be raise taxes!" Are you dying to know what they got us? Me too! In March we will be going to Great Wolf Lodge!!! And we are so excited to pull the kids out of school to go when there will be no crowds. Thanks Jim & Clarka!
I love Eli's face in this picture of him riding his new horse head thing from Grammy & Papa Gold. What a goober!
Amelia & Juliet
Amber & Rylie showing off their new jammies from Grammy.
The spread. With Costco Fruitcake.
The annual live nativity. Eli~ the donkey, Ivy~ the sheep, Tiffany~ Mary.
Cute babies!
Sophia in preparation for Christmas Cash Bonanza. Things are about to get really wild!
Decorating our "Christmas Tree".
Ivy getting her scoop of Christmas cash!
Sophia performing. She's good at that.
Even Grammy & Papa Tripp joined us this year. I think they were singing Jingle Bells.
More crazy fun.
Mom Tripp's prize~ a New Bottom Shaper. Hilarious!
Matt, Ivy and Papa Tripp enjoying the entertainment.
Christmas morning. I look TERRIBLE! But Ivy looks adorable and this is what she gave me for Christmas. The note reads, " Dad, Mom. I Love You". I love you, too, Ivers. These kinds of gifts are my absolute favorite.
Sophia gave Matt his first ever # 1 Dad Mug. She was upset when after she bought it the receipt showed it as a beer mug. I insisted that it could also be a water mug, a hot chocolate mug, a juice mug or a milk mug. This eased her anxiety and all was well. Matt took his mug with him to work so he can see it everyday and it will officially be used as his water mug.
This is from Rylie. It made me get choked up. It says, " Mom, I hope you have a Merry Christmas! I love you so much! You are such an awesome Mom. Thanks for all you do for us. We appreciate it, trust me! You have taught me many valuable lessons in my life. Thanks so much. A Mom doesn't get any better than you. Love, Rylie G".
And I did not get a picture of it, but Sophia gave me the sweetest handmade book about the times we have spent together and the ways I have blessed her life. It touched my heart. I totally cried. My kids are seriously the best.
Look! I got a Snuggie!!!
The madness at Grammy & Papa Tripps house.
Sophia & Lydia.
Rylie asked for make-up this year.
Rylie gave Matt a date for Christmas. He got to choose what activity they did. I did not realize this, but Rylie had NEVER been ice skating before! They had a fabulous time out on the ice. Rylie topped off their date by buying her Daddy a churro.
The Lacaden's were there ice skating too!
( Tonya, Christy, Tonya, Amy)
New Years~ We spent the first part of New Years at the Grammy and Papa Gold's house with all the family. We feasted on Pizza and French Dip's. We played Bingo. We just hung out and enjoyed each other's company. Sophia and Rylie decided to have a slumber party there. Luckies! At around 9:00 we left with Eli and Ivy and headed over to the Ruybalid's house. We had a blast playing Balderdash. We laughed A LOT! We ate A LOT! We partied until 1:00 in the morning and the kids were still going strong. That's amazing. They were a little grumpy when we told them it was time to go home.
Nathan & Ivy. Nathan is in Ivy's kindergarten class and they are such cute little buddies.
We braved the freezing cold to let off some fireworks just after midnight. Thank goodness for Snuggies!
My favorite man.
Eli ringing in 2011. I think Chrisy's neighbors may have been slightly annoyed by us.
Ivy plugged her ears the whole time we were outside. And I'm sure she blew the noise maker the whole time, too.
Happy 2011!
