I got a call from Eli's new Primary teacher. Her name is Megan Conser. Or Sister Conser to Eli. And we love her! On Sunday she was asking the kids what their favorite treats were...so on special occasions she can bring in a special treat for the kids. Like, when they have behaved well, or when they have a birthday. All the other kids had shouted out their favorite cakes or candies, but Eli stayed quiet. He was thinking hard. And then a conversation something like this ensued:
Megan: So, Eli, you haven't told me your favorite treat. What is it?
Eli: Well, I really like Mexican food.
Megan: So does that mean that if I brought you a big plate of Nachos that you would love that as your treat?
Eli: (with wide 8 year old eyes) Oh Yeah! I LOVE Nacho Cheese Sauce!
It made me laugh. It made Megan laugh.
The funny thing is that I don't buy Nacho Cheese Sauce. But just last week when I took Eli grocery shopping with me he worked his charm and talked me into buying a can of the stuff. And just the day before Megan called, Eli and his siblings had all enjoyed his Nacho Cheese Sauce with Tortilla Chips after school. Which is a big treat for them! My kids don't call me the Health Food Nazi for nothin', ya know!

That is too funny! My son was asking me the other day why I never buy a can of cheese sauce. Maybe I should treat them to a surprise one of these days.

Cheese. We have a few canned cheese stories to tell. - none of them good. Eli is AWESOME!
