The end of Spring soccer is officially over. Eli had a good season. Something seemed to click and he definitely showed more aggression out on the field then he ever has before. It was fun to see him score goals for his team. We had to remind him to be humble after he did so because he thought he was HOT STUFF! And while I want him to feel proud of himself I don't want him to openly gloat about his amazing abilities:)
He had several buddies on his team this season, which he loved. It wasn't uncommon for him and Tyler to be belly slamming or seeing if they could lift each other up while they were supposed to be playing. It was kinda funny. Eli can be the biggest goof ball sometimes. Just like his Daddy.
Chloe, a cute, cute girl from his class at school ended up being on the same team and let me just say, Eli is a big flirt! It was very cute to watch them together. Just look at their faces in the pictures above. I really do think Eli has his first crush.
I was team mom and ended up ordering these really cool medals for all the kids. They each had their name engraved on the back. And they were cheap. Which makes all of us parents happy. We did a quick end of season party at the field right after the game. The kids all got their medals and then donuts were served. They seemed excited and it was much easier than going to a restaurant afterwards. I had several parents say that they really liked the way we did the end of season party. Unless there's a huge complaint from the kiddos, I think as long as I'm team mom this is the way we will do them from now on.
The end of this season marks the end of micro soccer as well. Which means that no longer will there be girls on his team. Fall season puts Eli on an all boys team and instead of playing 3 against 3 they will play 4 against 4. The competition will start to get a little more intense as well. I don't know if that means extra days of practice or not. I kinda hope not. One night a week seems plenty with everything else that needs to happen, namely homework and chores and getting the girls to their activities. We shall see, I guess. And I hope with the game becoming more intense that Eli will still enjoy it.

Your my kind of team mom. Not a big deal! And still fun for the kids. We had t-ball and soccer end here today. My daughter's soccer team had their team party at DQ which I thought was perfect - a couple ice cream treats and it's done!
fun times ... another team mom! slap five ton. i hear you about the weekly load increasing as they get older. it's a challenge to find the balance, keep them motivated and let them have time to just be *kids*. as for not gloating, i hear that too ... i'm trying to convince my kids that it's awesome to be the best so you can be an example to others and teach them but do so quietly. a silent elitist. lol teasin' (not really).
Tyler has had a fun time with Eli. He always is his goofy self around him. I love to watch the two boys act crazy and just be boys ( with all the girls around here, that is just what Ty needs sometimes).
I love Eli's cheesey smiles. This is all natural and not coached whatsoever. You are one great taxi cab driver. By the way Tonya, Spring is not officially over for another month. Duh!
