Udderly Ivy

Once every 5 weeks it's my turn to teach Ivy's preschool group. I love it when it's my turn and I really love it when its not. This year we have been doing a program that we order on-line called Mother Goose Time. It is my favorite curriculum by far. It includes everything you could ever want in a fun and educational preschool program and I love that for the whole year I only had to pay 125ish bucks.

Top photo: The goat was from our theme on Mammals. I got to teach the kids that baby goats are mammals and that they drink milk from their mommy goat. I found it hysterical that our art project for that day was to attach udders on the mommy goat so the baby goat could drink it's mothers milk. Those are some huge udders! The poor mommy goat wouldn't even be able to walk with udders of that magnitude. I will never look at a surgical glove in the same light again. They will now and forever make me giggle every time I see one.

Above photo: Ivy was supposed to be finding the step stool that she claimed was in the garage, so she could wash her hands in the bathroom. Instead she put on my high heels so she could reach the juice boxes. We never did find the step stool and I don't even remember if she ever did wash her hands. But she did get her juice box. The girl knows what she wants.

Tonight we were getting ready to do our Family Home Evening when Ivy came into the family room with tears brimming in her eyes. When I asked her what was wrong she started sobbing that she didn't like the food to come out of her body. Over and over she sobbed those words. I had never heard her freak out about such a weird thing and didn't know what she meant. Sophia then explained that while they were upstairs Ivy had asked her how the food comes out of our bodies, so Sophia explained to her that that was the reason we go to the bathroom. I guess that sent Ivy into hysterics, so she came sobbing to me. She seriously wouldn't settle down about it until she conked out in my arms about 5 minutes later. I think she was just really over tired, so a lesson on the anatomy of the body was enough to put her entirely over the edge.

I love my funny, mostly happy, sometimes really moody, Ivy.

Body parts and body functions. Like them or not, they're a fact of life! :)
