On July 30
th Sophia turned 9 years old. She wanted to go to the Wilson Pool to celebrate. We love this pool. Here's Sophi going down the
froggy slide. What a nut!

One thing I love about Sophia is that she is always scheming up new ideas and business opportunities and she
sees to it that they come to life. This summer she planned a summer camp for little kids ages 5 and under. She talked about it non-stop and made all her plans. She would charge 2.00 for one hour, 3.00 for two hours or 20.00 for all day. I told her it might be a better
idea to just charge 5.00 for three hours and call it good. She argued to the bitter end on that one, but I told her that I was letting her use my facilities and food stash and that it was three hours or nothing. After that was squared away she planned for what the activities would be. There would be swimming time, music time,
exercise time, down time, story time, snack time, coloring time, and I'm sure a few other "times". Above picture: music time right after dress up time! She invited her friend Ally to help her out and then a few little summer campers. Sophi and Ally did a great job of keeping the little ones entertained and everybody had a blast. The next week they did it at Ally's house and on Tuesday it's at our house again. I think they will keep it going until school starts.

Sophia got to celebrate her birthday again at the Tripp family dinner that we hosted here. We LOVED that her Great Grandma and Grandpa Tripp were here from Utah as well as Uncle Brad and Aunt Trish. We don't get to see them often enough and it was so fun to have them here. Picture above: Eli gave these cut out hearts to Sophia for her birthday along with two of his plastic turtles. I love that;0)

Sophia and her cousin
Sariah have their birthdays just one day apart, so it was fun that they got to celebrate together.

This year Sophi requested to make her own birthday cake. She mixed it, baked it and decorated it all by herself. She did a good job!

This is the other cake she made by herself when we celebrated her big day with the Gold family.
Do you see the High School Musical theme?
Well Sophia, I sure do love you a lot. You bring so much energy into our family with your gift of chatter and your gift of drama. I love your big heart and how you step in to nurture whenever you see a need. It melted my heart today when you said, "Mom, you're the greatest. Can I help you fold the laundry?" I want you to know that you are wonderful just the way you are and that you will accomplish great things if you will stand true to who you are and rely on Heavenly Father's hand to guide you through your life. You have such a compassion for people and I know that this quality will help you to bless the lives of many people. You have definitely blessed my life and I love you so much.
