Rylie

On June 27th you turned 11 years old. You can't understand how weird it is for me that my first born is going into her pre-teen years and will be going to middle school next year. Oh Rylie, when you were first born I was terrified of you for the first week. I had no clue what being a Mom was all about. Every time you made even the littlest noise I would freak out and I had to be sure you were O.K. After a week I loosened up, had a really good, long cry and then all was well from that point on. You were such an easy baby. Dad and I had a blast taking you everywhere we went. As I have watched you grow and mature over the years I have been so impressed. I am amazed at your ability to focus in on the things that are important to you and give your all. Both Dad and I looked at each other and wondered how we ever ended up with
such a smart kid when you were awarded the Presidential Academic Achievement award this year. I'm not saying that we were dumb or did poorly in school, but neither of us ever got an award like that. When you first entered into school I was so worried for you because you were so incredibly shy. I had nothing to worry about. You quickly came out of your shell and have excelled. You will now give speeches at school and talks in church with ease. You have such a bright mind and a good understanding of what this life is all about. It makes me happy to see that you try your hardest to do what you know is right. I have loved watching you dance over the last year. I can see that you love it and that you take it seriously. It's so fun to see you forming your own interests and creating your own dreams. I'm just glad you're over Joe Jonas already. He wasn't your type anyway:0) Happy Birthday Rylie.
Love-
Mom
