A healed heart. A few days ago I wrote about some feelings of sadness that I had been struggling with. After much prayer and an unexpected experience with personal revelation I realized that I needed to forgive and talk personally with one whom I had been hurt by. I tried my hardest to speak with love and I was received with warmth and love in return. With just one conversation my heart was healed. I am forever grateful to my Heavenly Father for kicking me in the rump and helping me to figure out what needed to happen to make this situation right. I feel so much lighter. I never thought it would be possible to call this person my friend and now I can. It is truly amazing. Hallelujah!

An awesome husband. Two years ago when we remodeled our kitchen the molding that was put on the tops of our cabinets made it so the cabinet tops sat 4 inches lower than the molding. As a result, if I put anything on top of the cabinets it was swallowed up and not very visible. On Saturday my sweet hubby built up the tops of the cabinets so I could display my water jugs and my new stick balls that I found on clearance at T.J. Maxx.

LASIK. For the past year or so I can feel that my eyes are becoming more dependant on my glasses. In the past my issue was night driving, so I have never worn my glasses all day. I also started noticing that if I was at Taco Bell or McDonald's that I couldn't make out the menu until my stomach was touching the counter. Horror, I know:0) This week I went and got my eyes tested and found out that I am a good candidate for Lasik. I have an appt. scheduled for October 2nd. I am so excited to not have to wear glasses at all. WOW! Technology is amazing. The procedure takes less than an hour and the doctor says that I should be feeling and seeing great by the next day. That is if i'm not the 1 in however many thousands that go blind. Really, the doctor assures me that the people that this happens to are people who did not receive proper post-op care and got an infection. Pray for me please!

Coaching Soccer. On Saturday both of Eli's coaches were going to be gone, so me and another parent stepped in to coach. Neither of us felt like we knew what we were doing ,so we would depend on the other team's coach. Funny thing is, that when the other team showed up their coach was gone and two Mom's were stepping in and even more clueless than we were. Well, I had a blast. I tried to pretend that I knew what was happening, but ended up getting help from a Dad who did have a clue from the opposing team and relied on yells from parents behind me, " Oh purple kicked it out, blue throw in". Then I would pretend that it all came from my vast knowledge of the game of soccer and say, " Blue throw in"! I'm sure it looked comical to observers, but hey, the kids are 5 & 6. Just getting them to work together and to remember to not kick the ball into their own goal is success, I think. It was fun:0)

Teaching Young Women's. It was my turn to teach today. My topic was Dating Decisions. When I was planning the lesson I wasn't feeling like it would be a spiritual lesson, but definitely an important one. I was amazed at how strong the spirit was as we discussed the importance of dating good, moral, respectful guys. The discussion was great. The mia-maid girls that I teach and get to spend time with are awesome girls. They are so strong and talented and have great minds. I feel blessed to be their leader. I learn so much from them and hope that they know that I love and respect them so much.

Good Friends. On Friday my friend Allison celebrated her birthday. On Saturday we went out to dinner with our hubby's at McGrath's Fish House to celebrate. The food was so good! I had the Crab Crusted Rainbow Trout. It was awesome! Everybody liked what they ordered. After that we went and saw Mama Mia. I liked it a lot. Matt & Allison liked it OK. Allison's husband Scott didn't like it at all. It was over the top in some parts and I thought Pierce Brosnan's voice bit the big one, but over all it was a very fun movie to watch. After the movie we went and got Cold Stone. It was a fun night:0)

That took bravery to face someone you've been hurt by, and even moreso to do it with a spirit of love toward them. Bravo! And an inspiration to us all. I'm happy it turned out well for you.
And you're braver than I am about the Lasik thing. I've had people ask me about that and I'm all like, don't come near my eyes with those sharp pointy things!
Yeah for Lasik! I had it done 11 years ago and have never had a problem and think it is WONDERFUL! I literally could not read the big "E" on the chart and had been wearing glasses since I was 3. I cannot say enough good things about my experience. Also, I loved Mama Mia (though it was campie, it was fun!)
I love this post! It's so full of cheer and is the perfect start to my day. I"m glad you got things resolved with your new friend. That has got to be a huge weight off of you.
That is so great about coaching soccer. You rock! It was hilarious watching it. You are right though, you can't really screw up five and six year old magnet ball.
sounds like we are on the same wavelength this weekend! Gratitude is a good thing-- and good for you for doing the hard thing! You are such a strong person and someone I definately admire. Thanks for sharing with all of us!
I love your cabinets! Mine are TOTALLY EMPTY on top, because I have NO IDEA what to put on them! I might just have to make my own trip to TJ Maxx!
Way cool 'bout the Lasik--it was one of the best decisions I ever made a couple of years ago and was well worth the money! Where are you going for it?
And, I totally hear ya on the whole coaching thing...I had to get a few baseball practices started for Phelan last season when he was running late....boy did I look silly!
Your kitchen looks great! I never noticed up there before. Now I will for sure. Really looks nice.
I'm excited for your Lasik thinkg. I would LOVE to do that.
And, again, way to go with dealing with your problem. Wish I could do the same, but I'm afraid it's going to take a heck of a lot of prayer. Funny how it's only one person, but I'm too scared laugh at me, turn her back on me or hate me even more. You, though are amazing.
Your lesson was WONDERFUL! Way to go.
I'm glad that your heart has been healed. That's the best way to deal with that type of situation.
Wow, there's a lot going on in your life, and I'm glad it is all positive! That Lasik sounds awesome.
Your balls look so good...yea for a project finally getting done!
Thanks for a fun night...I think I'd like to see Mamma Mia again...let's plan on a rental night!
And check your calendar for Pride and Prejudice!
You're awesome, Tonya.
I'm so impressed how you handled your "situation" with such grace. I'm glad you blogged about it, too, for all of us to learn from.
Hugs!
I'm so glad you have a "new" friend. What an amazing turn of feelings. Good luck on your eye surgery. My dad had it done to help him see better though he still wears glasses. I was more nervous than he was about it. You'll be fine!!
Best of luck with the LASIK. I'll admit that, as blind as I feel in the morning as I grasp madly for my glasses, LASIK frightens me! I guess I'm just worried that I'd be one of those people who has complications like overly dry eyes, etc. I hope it works out awesome for you... I can't wait to hear about it! :)
BTW... thanks for the dinner invite on Sunday. If only I'd waited a bit longer to start dinner... but, my lovely wife was getting really hungry after 2 hours with 5-year-olds in the primary. I hope the Golds and the ShepAlders can get together soon! We're really glad you're our neighbors! :)
Good for you for being so real on your blog. I think that is great. We all struggle with our own things and I hope we are stronger in the end after going through them.
Yeah for Lasik ....I hope it goes really well for you.
I want to go see Mamma Mia soon!
It was great running into you again at Target. I'm glad you have posted this. It makes me so glad for my own blessings.
I love 'thankful' posts. It is always good to focus on all the wonderful blessings in our lives.
I'm happy to hear about your healed heart. The Lord has a way of reaching out at the perfect time, doesn't HE?
Your kitchen is BEAUTIFUL! I love all the pretty things you placed above the cupboards :)
