Happy Birthday Dear Sophia

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my 8 year old baby girl! I love you so much. I hope you had a good time at The Olive Garden last night. Thanks for sharing that huge birthday cake with us! Did you get embarrassed when the waiters and waitresses sang to you? I can't believe that you are getting baptised on Saturday. I know that I will cry, but that's o.k. because your Mommy will be crying out of happiness, so don't worry. I am so proud of the sweet young lady you are becoming. I love to see how you are so caring and compassionate towards others. This is a great gift and you will be able to make many people's lives happier and brighter because of it. You have such a great personality. It makes me happy that you find the joy in life and that you are not afraid to laugh out loud when something strikes you as funny. Always remember that you are very much loved.
Sophia and her friends at her birthday party. She wanted a Luau theme. It was really fun finding the decorations for it. Every body got a lei when they arrived. We played games, ate cake and ice cream and swam in the back yard. Perfect for a bunch of 8 year olds.

The cake. The plastic tree caught on fire during the birthday song, but luckily the cake was spared:0) Sorry Eli! I owe you a tree for your dinosaur collection.

The table decorations. Thanks to Dollar Tree and Jo-Ann's 50% off sales for cute, cheap Luau stuff.

Matt and Sophia at the Tripp family celebration on Sunday. This was the second of her 4 celebrations. Spoiled. Loved.

Annaelle and Alexia who even sang to her in French. We had the privilege of having the Bake's exchange student with us for the last 4 nights of her stay in the good old U.S.A. Sadly we had to take them to the airport for their trip back home the morning of Sophia's birthday. It was more emotional than I would have thought. They will be very much missed and we are excited to keep in touch with them.

Happy Birthday Sophia!!!

I forgot how close her and Braden are in age. They were 6 months when we met. Wow!

BAPTIZED!?!? What the heck!! How did she get old enough for that? I distinctly remember it just being a short while ago that we came over right after you'd had her. I think she was a week old or so and so tiny. How did the time fly by so crazy fast? She sure seems like a great young lady and I look forward to seeing baptism pictures. Congratulations, Sophie!

Happy Birthday Sophia! I agree with your mom, you are an amazing girl and I can't wait to see you grow and develop even more amazingly. You are a good example, a faithful leader, and a loving friend. Leila says she wants to be like you and I am thinking that must be the best thing she could want to be. We love you!
