I had some requests for my Aroma Dough recipe so here it is.....
Aroma Dough
2 C Flour
1/2 C Salt
2 C Water
2 tbsp. oil
1/4 C cream of tartar
1 pkg unsweetened kool aid
Mix all ingredients in a sauce pan over low-med heat until it forms a ball. When cool enough to handle, knead a few times until smooth.
Use any color/scent of kool aid you want.
Store in airtight container.
FYI...Cream of Tartar can be spendy and comes in small bottles at the grocery store. Try a store like Cash and Carry to buy it in bulk. It will last a long time and will save you some $.
For those who have asked...it is totally non-toxic, yes you can eat it, but it will be salty. GROSS! It will not stain hands and I have never seen it stain clothing, etc. Please don't come and hunt me down if you discover otherwise:0)

You are such a good mom...I think I subconsciously banned play-doh and anything like unto it a long time ago. It was never intentional, but I just don't think I like the mess. Maybe we'll try it again.
Does the Kool-Aid cause the dough to stain?
What a good mom you are! I threw away all the playdough in my house quite a few years ago! I am mean that way. But I always feel better when I see playdough sitting out at preschool!
I have great respect for mothers who are playdough lovers though. I just can't handle all those itty bitty pieces that go everywhere (into carpet, into chairs, into the table, on their clothes...)
Thanks, T! I look forward to trying it out and thanks for the cream of tartar tip- I bet Winco sells it for cheap!
We made bright blue playdough yesterday.
That is so funny you have the Peaches song on your playlist. Jesse and I still sting that ALL the time.
So I'm new to the whole stay-at-home mom thing. Seriously, koolaid? doesn't that stain their hands way bad?? lol We don't do fun things at our house! Teasin' - I'm printing the recipe now and we'll be kneading away before you know it.
Looks like amazing stuff! But can I eat it? Old habbit.
oh, i am so glad you posted this! i am such a mean mom when it comes to play-doh. I HATE the SMELL, so this will be a welcome alternative for all involved!
We are playdoh lovers at our house! Ben and I can make it together and then play with it, too. WAY COOL!
Ok...it would probably taste gross but CAN YOU EAT IT?
Thanks for answering my question! And yes, I do use my blender every day (and Cayden found the little rubber ring for the old one the day after I bought the new one!). I make protien shake every day. I'm in weight loss mode right now but even when I'm not, I try to be healthy. I wasn't blessed with the skinny gene that my brother's got ~ rude. I use Dr. Smoothie, you have to order it online. I get their Mocha Java powder (they have lots of flavors) and blend it with vanilla soy milk and vanilla whey protien powder. It's about 400 cal so it's a full mean for sure (use ice). OR, I use chocolate whey protien powder, soy milk and a banana (ice of course) for less calories, it's yummy. How about frozen berries with vanilla protien powder or frozen tropical fruit? Always have to have the protien powder or they are yucky!
I meant to say it's a full "MEAL" .. not a full mean lol
Ok Tonya,
Yes I have been lurking! I can't tell you how wonderful it is to feel connected to all of you again! I am hoping to come for a short visit at the end of the summer-- hopefully.
That dough looks like fun, thanks for the recipe!
