Today Eli is home sick. Poor little guy! He was fine at school yesterday. I volunteered in his class and he was as cute and sassy as ever. He and Matt have been planning a MANLY man party that they are hoping to do on Saturday evening. Last night they spent time making the invites and today was supposed to be the day to deliver them. Then little man started with a fever that lasted all throughout the night. I haven't been able to get it to break much today either. He doesn't have any appetite and keeps dosing in and out of sleep. He just woke up kind of delusional and asked me what the word "input" means. I asked him why he was curious and he said that he saw the word in his dream. I asked him if his dream was scary. He said no and now he's asleep again. And so sad that I have no clue how to describe the word input. Hmmmm...he also keeps asking for milk, but when I give it to him he just takes a small sip.

(This is how I found Eli just after he woke long enough to mumble that he wanted some mac-n-cheese. I think he was trying to walk to the table to get the food he wants, but his body won't let him have. Poor little man!)

Ivy had dance this morning. On the first day of the month her teacher lets parents stay and watch. She was so excited to have me come today and was disappointed when I told her that I could only stay for a minute because I had to get home to Eli. I did get to see her do a split leap and some other fancy dance moves. At first Ivy clammed up because I was watching and started to cling to me. I had to tell her that if she was not on her dot by the count of three I was going to have to go home NOW. She was on her dot by three. Love those fancy Mommy tricks! I really love her dance teacher. She is such a talented lady and works fabulously with those girls.

Last week we found out  hat Sophia did not get into her middle school of choice through the lottery system. This means that she has to go to ACMA(Arts & Communication Magnet Academy) on Friday with a portfolio in hand. She will be interviewed and critiqued and if all goes well she will be hand selected to attend the school next year. She decided about a year or so ago that photography is her passion, so she put together an awesome portfolio of some of her best pictures. She could only choose 3-5. Right now there's 6 in there. I don't think the teachers will mind one extra photo. They're all pretty cool. I do think she has a natural ability to capture images in a unique way. Here's the ones she's chosen to show. My favorite is the chicken. What's yours?

Yesterday I FINALLY treated myself to a brand new haircut and some highlights. This is something I don't do for myself very often at all. Usually I just cut my own, but I was so ready for a change. I have been feeling old lady frumpy for a few months and I needed to do something to keep me feeling young and spry! I took in pictures of Meg Ryan. I'm sure we have a similar texture of hair. Too bad that's where our similarities end! I think she is gorgeous. Well, back in her younger years anyways. Now a days she looks way to plastic face. So sad!

Meg Ryan when she was cute. And this is similar to the picture I took to the hairstylist.

Meg Ryan as:
 Plastic Face.
Scary.

I like it:)

So sad that Eli is sick. I hope he feels better soon.

Your new hair cut is superb I must say.

Can I just say that I am soooo, soooo happy that Sophia did her second consideration in photography? Good choice, Sophia. Keep me posted about that.

The chicken is definitely my favorite, and not just because I'm biased towards chickens - I like the photo skills there too.

Love the new hair cut!

Poor Eli! He looks miserable in that photo. Hope he's up and at 'em soon.

I like the blue tennis shoe photo. Hope Sophie gets her wish.

Your hair is darling! Just never do what Meg Ryan has done to her lips. EEEKKK!!!

poor eli with a mom who can't explain what input means. "to add something" i don't even need to reference the dictionary i carry around. that's how familiar i am with "input." on the other hand, he has a mom who doesn't look like meg ryan so, for that, he can always be grateful.

sophia is amazing. tell her i said that, okay? tell her i love photography and tell her i choose the photo of the chuck taylor's because it's rad as heck. tell her i said heck on purpose.
