We have had so much fun having Anaelle in our home. She fits right in and we have had a blast playing with her this summer. It has been so much fun hanging out with the Bake's and their foreign exchange student, Alexia. We decided to take them to the Rose Garden one night for a picnic.
When we got there we were happy to find that some children's theater was performing Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory for free that night.
After watching the play and having our picnic we played a game of Bocce Ball. The Bake's kicked our behinds. It was the same story last summer. That's lame considering it is our game. Hmmmm.....
Alexia and Anaelle.
The next weekend we took the whole crew to Silver Falls. We hiked for about 4 hours. It was so beautiful there! I can't believe we had never been there before. I never knew how amazing it is. We had a great time with the exceptions of Ivy wanting to be held the entire time and Tonya, Rylie, Ellie and Ivy getting lost for awhile due to an emergency pit stop for Ivy who had to pee and refused to go in the bushes. Too bad that when we finally got to the toilet there was a big ol' sign posted on the door,"bathroom closed". Ivy ended up peeing in the bushes against her wishes and luckily our friend Jeff came to our rescue after we realized that we were in the wrong parking lot:0)
I love this picture of matt and the kids and Ian.
So beautiful! We hiked by at least 8 or so waterfalls. We even saw crazy teenage boys jumping off of really high rocks into the river below. It looked really fun, but we were not prepared for swimming.
Our friend Hailey invited us to go swimming at her in-laws swimming pool. We had a blast! Ivy was totally fearless and wanted to do it all by herself. She refused to wear a floatie until I banished her from the pool unless she did so. Eli loved those swimming noodle things. Cute boy!
Me, Hailey and as many of the crazy monkey's as we could round up:0)
A year ago my Dad and Mom bought a pub in Boring, Oregon. The Timber Pub 'N' Grub really is the most happenin' place there in Boring. This last Saturday they had a 1st anniversary party with free food and a live band. My Uncle Brad and Aunt Trish came in from Utah for the party and we dragged our friends, the Oberg's for a night out on the town. It was fun for all and Allison's first time in a bar. We had fun people watching, and drinking endless "virgin creamsicles" made by non other than my own sister Lori who works full time at the pub. I even talked my hubby into dancing with me a couple of times. FUN!
My Dad and brother- in -law Aaron. I still can't quite figure out what they are doing in this picture, but I do love them.
On Sunday when we got home from Church, Eli went upstairs and changed into yet another Sunday outfit complete with a backpack and a bicycle helmet. When I asked him what he was up to, he said that he was going to get on his bike and was going to ride around just like the missionaries. He was so proud of himself and was happy to let Daddy snap some pictures.
And that's what we do in the summer time.

Cute little Missionary Eli! I love it. Looks like you're havin' a fun summer! We're about to experience our first hurricane. It won't be bad here in San Antonio, but Brad has business in Corpus Christi tomorrow. We're trying to decide if it's okay to go or not.
Like I ALWAYS say...you guys are SO busy! I can't imagine why you don't drop from exhaustion. When the agency called for your references with Anaelle, I told them she would not be bored a minute and I was right! Your summer is looking fun filled and full of memories.
Gotta get that recipe for the creamsicle drink. That was YUMMY!

YIKES! You have been busy. I bet you'll be relieved and exhausted by the time school starts. It looks like you are having a ton of fun. And the sweet story about Eli wanting to be like a missonary, made my heart melt. Good luck with the rest of your summer!
Looks like your summer is so much fun. It's great to see families that play together. What made you decide to have an exchange student?
