For Spring Break I got this crazy idea that I wanted to take the 4 kids to the beach by myself since Matt couldn't take vacation time. We booked a small house in Lincoln City and I got my sister Kari to come along with her two girls. After we got our vans loaded up we went to go and my van wouldn't start. After 
finally getting it started after a twenty minute fight we were off to Les Schwabbs(sp?) where I was diagnosed with needing a new battery. $100.00 later we were on our way! When we finally arrived at our beach house, instead of the beautiful spring weather I had imagined for this short getaway, we were greeted with rain and buckets of hail. Holy Hail! So, we decided we needed to get creative since the beach was out of the question.We ended up at the outlet mall. (creative huh?) Kari got 4 trips in during our 4 day get away. I did enough damage with just two stops:0) In between shopping we took the kids bowling, watched way to much t.v., read, and one night we even let the kids have two scoops of ice cream and a costco cookie! Rylie managed to make it to every shopping trip that transpired which I think topped out at 5. At 9 years old she is quite the fashion queen and has informed me that I have no fashion sense. Whatever! Matt was even able to take a half day off of work and hang out with us for one short night. I was glad he could join in the fun. I mean, what's a beach trip without Matt? On our last day there we finally saw Mr. Sunshine come out, so we milked every minute we could at the beach and the park at Devil's Lake before heading home. I love having the beach so close for those fast getaways from the craziness of life.

Sounds like lots of fun! Don't ya just hate car problems?! Glad it was a relatively cheap and easy fix! Lincoln city is a fun place to visit. When the weather cooperates you got the beach, when its crappy you got the outlets. It works. That's cool you and Kari get to do stuff like that!
Ok...I didn't plan on going 4 times...I just kept forgetting stuff or decided I wanted something...hahaha!!! Love ya! It was fun! Next time, I won't leave so much!!!
