Surprising Dad

It was Kari's idea to throw Dad a surprise party for his 60th birthday. She had grand plans of inviting all of his Utah family and friends to come. Of making this something special. Something he would never forget.

And it turned out perfectly.

He was surprised!

He even shed a tear, which made me shed a tear, too.

She found this cute little grange hall in Gresham. A perfectly quaint location for a large gathering.

Carrot cake and German chocolate cake were two musts on the menu. They are Dad's favorites.

 Memory tree's decorated the tables.

Lydia helped lick the frosting off of the cupcake lids.

Waiting for Papa...

So many people came to show their love for Dad. It touched my heart.

Still waiting...and having fun while passing the time.

Dad showed up all blind folded and clueless to what was going on. His reaction was priceless.

All of his brothers came from Utah. And many friends.

Love is where it's at people!

  Hanging out at the party.

Enjoying catching up with family and friends we hadn't seen in awhile.

Dad reading his 60 memories.

Kari had the idea to collect 60 memories and give them to Dad in 60 envelopes.

Kari should be a party planner in her next life.

Dad and his brothers. They look nothing alike at all.

Yeah, right.
