( yeah, she's HOT! )
For the past three and almost a half months I have been attending classes at Bella Institute School of Cosmetology and I have LOVED every minute.
Like, seriously LOVE!
I love going to class everyday. I love the people I go to school with. I love being able to get in touch with my creative side, I love using my gift of gab with the clients and I love the passion I feel for this profession.
For the past month I have been working out on the floor with clients and it has been a blast! When I first started school I had no idea that we could accept tips from our clients, but we can. And we get to keep every penny. YAY! Yesterday I permed and cut the hair of a sweet, sweet 68 year old woman named Sharon and she gave me a 10.00 tip. My biggest thus far. It was so exciting!
Today I cut Carol's hair. She came in with long, scraggly hair and told me to just go for it. So I did and she looked so cute after we were done. And my instructor didn't have to fix anything and gave me a big high five. HAPPY! After Carol, I cut Bruce's hair. He didn't want a clipper cut, so he became my first ever scissor cut on a guy. He wanted his bangs left longer than the rest of his hair, so it wasn't an easy cut. Because a good cut has to be in good proportion and visually have good balance. But I decided to go for it. And I have to say it looked smokin' good. I did it with no instructor help. That's a huge thing when your in beauty school. I decided to get him all styled with gel before I called the instructor over for review. She again gave me a big high five and said it looked great. He was super happy with it.
Today was a great day.
I am feeling really confident out on the floor and am having to use the advice of the instructors less and less.
It's pretty awesome.
So, if you want a cut, color, perm or even an up-do, I would love to have you visit me at Bella Institute. I included the link above. Call and make an appointment and mention that you're my friend or family and you will get a 25% discount off of their already ridiculously low prices. A regular cut is 4.00. See, ridiculously low prices!
I'm happy to come to your home as well, I just don't get credit for it, but it gives me lots of good practice. And practice is what I need.
I should graduate sometime in April. What a perfect birthday present!
