Almost 40

 Yesterday I turned 35. T.H.I.R.T.Y. F.I.V.E! I just cannot believe it.

Ivy walked through the neighborhood and picked me this bouquet of flowers.
It melted my heart to see my little five year old come tromping in the house with them. And the precious look on her face as she handed them to me and wished me a happy birthday. Thanks Ives. My sweet girl.

Rylie says that most of the flowers were found in random places, and only a couple in neighborhood yards.

I don't want to know!

Eli's gift:

Eli: Mom, close your eyes and count backwards from ten
Me (eyes closed): ten,nine,eight....
Eli: You ready?
Me: Yeah, I'm ready.

Then he threw his arms around my neck and gave me the biggest hug ever.

I love you, little man. Your my favorite 8 year old.

Rylie's gift:

Japanese Cherry Blossom lotion, body wash and perfume.

I love it. Thanks Ry. Whenever I wear it I'll think of you.

Sophia's gift:

Limey Green Nail Polish

My favorite color is green. I love it, Soph. My toenails look awesome!

My amazing husband also picked me a Daffodil. Out of our yard.

I hope.

( Birthday/Easter Party at Mom and Dad Tripp's house)

Matt took me on a FUN date on Saturday night. We went to downtown Portland and shopped in our favorite second hand stores. I found the skirt in this picture. The green one. It's a vintage and I love it! And in case your interested, one of the stores we went into had posters advertising a naked shopping spree on Easter Sunday. Yep, naked. But you keep all the clothes you can put on in a certain amount of time. Holy Moly! Keep Portland weird, I guess.

We also found this awesome French restaurant. A creperie. I don't remember the name. My crepe had bacon, brie, mozzarella and spinach with a creamy pesto sauce. Matt got a dish that was also to die for. His had white beans, lamb, pork, sausage...I think it was called a Cassoulette. It was SO good. And they gave me a free sweet crepe for my birthday: crepe with bananas, cinnamon, sugar and whipped cream. I can't wait to go back. It was that good!

Gotta love Portland.

My birthday loot.
(well, part of it anyways)

I got spoiled.

Thanks to my wonderful family and friends for loving me. I love you, too.

The note waiting for me by my pillow before I went to dream land.

And snuggle Sophia I did.

It isn't so bad turning 35. In fact, it's a beautiful thing.

I thought you were wearing a missionary tag in that picture, at first. It got me all sorts of confused! :)

Nothing better than to be so loved on your birthday! Thirty-five looks good on you! Love ya!

Happy Birthday!

And don't push 40 too fast yet. You still have so much life to enjoy before you get THAT old :)

"almost 40!" lol. how about "recently 30?" you're too funny. i'm glad you were spoiled. you deserve it. i have a love/hate relationship with crepes. i can't decide if i like them. i have really good ones and really bad ones. that's the problem.
