Gingerbread People

Christmas would not be Christmas if we didn't decorate something gingerbread. Most years it's a house. Last year it was a train. This year it was a gingerbread family. Pre-baked cookies in a kit. Easy. Fun. Just my cup of tea.

What a beautiful family (minus me and ivy it's not as beautiful, but life goes on, i suppose. joke!)

Gingerbread people on display. Cookie stand hand painted by Grammy Gold.

We made the gingerbread people for FHE on Monday night and afterwards we wrote letters to the missionaries. Eli wrote to Justin Ashby. He told me not to read it, but I did anyways. It said, "Merry Christmas Elder Ashby. I hope you like the note. From: Eli Gold. It made me smile.

This has nothing to do with making gingerbread people, but just as that helps Christmas feel cheery & bright, my lunch date with Darliyn on Monday did the same. We discovered through blogging that we both love herbal tea and that we both drink it with vanilla creamer. Perfect reason to have an afternoon tea! And the Stash Chocolate/Mint Tea was to die for. Seriously.

I completely forgot you took this picture. I'm so glad you did though! I might steal it off your blog so I can use it on mine too! I had so much fun. And those gingerbread people are super cute. Our next get-together needs to be a trip to the Stash tea store.
