Summer's Out & School's In

Summer's out and school is officially in!

At first it was hard to swallow that the lazy days of summer had come to an end, but the kids have loved being back in school.

It's so strange, now that school is back in session, it feels like summer is a distant fleeting memory and that school never really ended at all. Like summer was just a really good dream.

Rylie & friend Ellie
These girls are two peas in a pod.
I cannot believe that I have a 7th grader!
Sophia had Mrs. Nelson in 3rd grade and was SO excited when she found out that Mrs. Nelson was going to be her 5th grade teacher as well. This is gonna be an awesome year!
Now that Eli is in 2nd grade he has become a fashionista.
He had an opinion about everything I bought him!
He wanted rocker style jeans and wanted nothing to do with the athletic pants I normally buy him.
Little studmuffin.

Sophia, Eli and friend Ian giving a big thumbs up before skipping down the school path!
Ivy.

My baby.

Now a Kindergartner!

She was nervous and giddy when it was FINALLY time for her to wait for that big yellow school bus.
Daddy even suprised us and came home to see Ivy get on the school bus for the first time.

This is when Mommy got choked up.
Actually, I totally cried.
My baby isn't a baby anymore.
And that is very bittersweet.

Ivy waiting for the school bus today.
I had to snap a picture of her sassy outfit because I LOVE it and she looked so adorable:)
And the best part is that I got it all for 12.00.
Skirt, shirt & shoes!
Not bad. Not bad at all.

Okay, Ivy's little pose there has me totally grinning. Did Matt tell you I saw him yesterday? At first I was like, "who is this guy?" He obviously knows me. I mean, he looked familiar but without you right there I couldn't place him. Then he said "nursery" and it all clicked into place. I'm sure he thought I was some weirdo. Tell him I'm sorry.

So cute! Gosh it seems like yesterday that you were blogging about Eli getting on the bus for the first time--wasn't the bus late and he was the only one on it? :)

Now all your kids are gone. What to do with the time?!?!

Cute kids.
Cute family.
Where has the time gone?
Just yesterday you visited us in Washington and Rylie was just a newborn.

Cheers to a new year!

Great pictures! I love Mrs. Nelson. She was so good for Sam.

Ivy's pink shirt is adorable. She looks like a little cupcake!

Congrats on having your nest empty for 2 hours a day! Enjoy!
