Happy LOVE Day

Are you feeling the LOVE? No worries if your not because I LOVE You!

Now are ya feeling it? Good.

Valentines Day was an eventful holiday at our house this year. A friend in our ward set up a progressive valentines party for the kids on Saturday morning. They rotated between 4 houses, ours being one of them. At one house they played games, at another they decorated sugar cookies, at another they played ping pong and more games and at our house they made homemade Valentines Day cards. It was fun to have all the kids here and to see how their creative juices got going while they made their cards. In all there were about 30 kids who took part. It was a little insane, but mostly just a lot of fun! I'm a big lame-o and didn't take any pictures. Maybe because I was trying to keep 30 kids happy and supplies full. Hmmmmm...

It is a rare occasion when I will buy my kids any of those gummy fruit snacks. It just gags me that they are so full of corn syrup and other crud. I'm an all natural fruit leather kind of mom. And my kids don't always think that's so cool. So, after the party I presented each of my kids with their own large sack of gummy fruits and a card to let them know how special they are. Oh yes, they were feeling the LOVE. They were ecstatic!

After lunch Matt and I took off for our Valentines date. I sure do LOVE my Valentine. He planned the whole thing, just for us. He must LOVE me so much. Matt, I LOVE you. We went on a BEAUTIFUL hike through Forest Park. It was a little muddy and I found myself sliding around quite a bit. Remind me to not wear Croc's on muddy hikes. We had such a great time! After our hike we went back to our van where Matt had a bunch of yummy picnic food stashed. Lucky for us there was a covered gazebo area near where we parked, so we got to enjoy a romantic picnic outdoors surrounded by beautiful nature. Matt had even thought to grab two of our china plates, so we picnicked in style.

After our picnic we drove to Bridgeport Village to go shoe shopping. My hope was to find a good pair of hiking shoes, but nothing caught my eye. Matt however walked away with a great new pair of dressy, brown leather shoes. He says I am way too picky. I say that hiking shoes are way expensive and that if they don't catch my eye then they aren't worth the moola. I like things cute. It's just how I am. So if they aren't both cute and functional then I just can't do it. Silly me. One day I will find those perfect hiking shoes!

We ended the night feasting on gelato and watching The Time Travelers Wife. It was glorious. Well, the gelato was glorious. The movie, not so much.

Sounds like you guys had a GREAT Valentine's day full of L-O-V-E!! I love the idea of the progressive party for the kids. I'll have to try that someday! And what a sweet date Matt planned for you!

I was not a big fan of the Time Traveler's wife either. I just didn't really get why he had to travel thru time. I don't think there was really a point to it, was there? Maybe I missed something! I just felt like the plot was missing some important information!
