Florence

At the end of summer we went to Florence with the Gold clan. We were so happy that the out of towners were able to come and spend time with us too. We don't get to see them often enough, so it was great to have that time to catch up and enjoy each other. All the cousins LOVED every second they got to spend together.

Ben, Spencer, Andrew and Eli getting buried in the sand. Eli adored hanging out with his boy cousins!

Me, Mom Gold, and Ben and Emily's little one, Aly. Such a cutie!

Papa Gold brought along this boat for the Grandkids. They had a blast in it. I took Eli, Ivy and Andrew out in it and we got really stuck for awhile...just kinda turned circles until I could figure out how to manuever the stinkin' thing. I guess I got some good arm exercise.

I had to bribe Eli with a dollar so he would recreate his "big bum" pose. He got the air trapped in there just right. Such talent.

After a long day at the beach we wanted to roast marshmallows by the fire, but our hotel was too far from the beach and we were all tired, so Papa got really creative and made this "campfire" in the BBQ. He even went out and found all the sticks. He is genious.

Eli found this roll of carpet out behind our hotel and was determined that he was going to bring it home. Matt and I told him that the carpet had to stay at the beach, but Eli would not listen. We had to get a picture when Eli went running out our hotel door to the van and tried with all his might to lug the carpet into the side door of our van. It wasn't until I explained to him that the carpet had probably been peed on by all the beach dwelling animals that he willingly laid it to rest.

Mom and Dad Gold treated us all to a dune buggy ride. It was super fun and super cold. We all had a great time!

Here's Ivy making a sand angel. It makes me laugh because wherever we go she has to make some sort of angel. Just today at Eli's soccer game I saw her laying on the grass just like this. When I asked her what she was doing she replied, "Oh, making a grass angel." I love that girl.
Thanks Mom and Dad for planning this fun getaway. It was a blast.

Wow, what a fun time. The fire in the barbecue is ingenious. Go Grandpa! And good thinking Tonya, mentioning the peeing of see animals. I'm glad it worked.

All I have to say is what's up with your kid and carpet. I have heard of boys who like sticks, rocks, sea shells, maybe trying to sneak in a creature or two, but a carpet? Is this a future interior designer?

What a fun adventure! I was just thinking about making a scrapbook of our Oregon adventures from when we were still living there. This has totally motivated me to do it. It's so fun to see your sweet babies growing up. They are a hoot!
