Have We Died And Gone To Heaven?

We left for Utah at around 4:30 in the afternoon on August 5th. At midnight we were at the Parma, Idaho exit and Matt needed me to drive, so we pulled over and I took my place at the wheel. The kids were already sound asleep and it didn't take long for Matt to join in. As 2:00 in the morning neared I needed to do something to keep me alert, so I turned on the radio. I had to keep it really low so nobody would wake up. I managed to find an alternative radio station and though I couldn't hear all the lyrics the noise was welcome and did it's job to entertain my brain. As I was driving and looking at my surroundings I noticed an RV sales center on the side of the road. The name of it was 7th Heaven RV Sales. "Interesting name", I thought to myself. Moments later I noticed a billboard flashing in the distance. As it came nearer I could make out "Proverbs 3:6" and then it would flash " In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths". "Wow, I've never seen a billboard like that before", I thought to myself. About five minutes later I hear the words, " Jesus loves his people and will not leave them alone", and then more alternative music playing from the radio. At this point I am wondering what in the world is going on. I am starting to think alot about the scripture that has just flashed at me, 7th Heaven RV sales, and the voice coming from the radio. Is God trying to send me some messages? I better start paying attention. While lost in my thoughts I hear the words " This is Matt and I want to read you a scripture. This one is in 1st Corinthians. It talks about working hard.(he then reads the scripture). What this means to me is that if we work hard and follow through and rely on the Lord, that He will help us to be successful in the things we are pursuing". Then the alternative music starts again. My brain is a little confused. "Why am I hearing voices coming from the alternative radio station? Why was there a billboard flashing Proverbs 3:6 at me? Why is there an RV sales center named 7th Heaven? Are we dead?" I better turn up the radio just a bit so I can try to figure this out. Finally after a few songs I realize that I am listening to a station called Positive Alternative. Still though, was does that mean? So, an hour or so goes by and I am still thinking about all this. No more voices are coming from the radio. I have decided that we are not dead because wouldn't I remember the loud crash or screaming or something about crashing? Plus, if we were dead wouldn't the streets be paved of gold? Anyways, I am now tiring of Positive Alternative and decide to change the radio station. Country? NO. Beyonce? NO. Yay! Another alternative radio station. I am happy listening to my alternative tunes. I still can't hear all the lyrics because everybody is still sleeping and the volume is very low, but it is again doing it's job to keep my brain entertained. Every once in awhile I am still thinking about all the strange happenings from an hour or so before when I hear, " It is the best choice I could have made to wait until I got married to have sex. I'm not saying it was easy, but it was so worth it. If we rely on God and ask Him for strength He can and will keep us on a virtuous path". And then I hear, "You are listening to Positive Alternative". Now I am perplexed. I know I am not listening to the same radio station I was before. The first was 93 or 99.1 and this one is 88. something. " We must be dead", I start thinking. Is this what heaven is like? The businesses all have heavenly names, billboards flash scripture and the airwaves are ruled by Positive Alternative? About two hours have gone by since I saw 7th heaven RV sales now and there are still voices coming out of the radio. I am starting to wonder if I should wake Matt up and get his take on our situation. No way! He'll think I have gone loony. I will figure this out. A few minutes later we enter into a road construction zone and the road turns from smooth to rough. There is a semi-truck in front of me and we start getting pelted by rocks on the wind shield. My thoughts for the last two hours have now been of a somewhat spiritual nature, so instead of thinking, "Wow, those rocks are going to leave a mark" or "Yikes, we're going to need a new windshield" my first thought was, " These are the snares of the devil, but I am on the straight and narrow path". Well, because of the road noise and the rocks pelting at us Matt woke up. I did share with him my experiences. I came to the conclusion that we were still very much alive. Matt probably thought I was weird. Positive Alternative disappeared from the airwaves. I didn't see anymore scripture billboards. I never saw another 7th Heaven RV Sales. The sun started to come up over the horizon and the lights of Utah came into view. I still don't quite know how to explain what transpired. I am the only one in our vehicle who experienced it, so I will take the message from Proverbs 3:6 and acknowledge His hand in my life and pray for His guiding hand. Though my experience was very much entertaining it was also very profound and I will not forget it.

Glad you didn't die...I don't think that Scott and Macy could have lived together on a permanent basis.

Oh...and we'd miss you an awful lot, too!

The pictures are so easy to do. Go to this website: http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/mosaic.php and it shows you how. You do have to load your pictures into flickr first, which is the only thing that takes much time. Let me know if you have other questions.
