Nemo Kicks The Bucket

For the last three or so years I have been wanting to redo the kids bathroom. After 10 years of the Nemo theme I was ready for Nemo to die. Well, three years ago I bought this paint and then got pregnant with Ivy, so the project never got done. When I finally got motivated to actually start the painting process the paint was nowhere to be found. Matt convinced me that I had returned the paint and we no longer owned the Crab Apple color I had purchased. After searching for two days Matt came to me and said he had a confession to make...I didn't really take the paint back, he had hidden it from me amongst our water storage because he couldn't bear to see Nemo( we had this mural painted on our wall when we moved into this house and the whole Nemo theme in our last house) buried under a new coat of brown paint. But 10 years of fish COME ON!. After finally beating the answer out of him on exactly where the paint was I found it and took it to Home Depot for a reshaking and finally got the project done! So much for Matts shannanigans! On my way to reshake the paint I even called Matt and got his O.K. to buy a new faucet and light fixture to update the bathroom even more. The kids are convinced that Nemo still lives, he's just taking a mud bath and everybody is happy:0)I had help from Rylie and our foreign exchange students Ariel and Kelly, who lived with us last summer. We stayed up until 2:00 in the morning finishing the job. Thanks guys! I love how it turned out, though these pictures don't show it as a whole very well.

Oh my goodness, I just checked you blog a day ago and it was still on maid service, now you've done three new posts! Way to go. I did the same thing on Easter and only took pictures with Greyson's hair crazy and in pj's. Your bathroom looks great and it makes me want to decorate so bad. Looks like the beach trip was typical Oregon weather, I still miss it though since I'm in snow again here.

I love this story! I think its cute that Matt felt sentimental over the Nemo painting! But it turned out really nice : )

That's awesome. I LOVE that Matt would be deceptive. You could use that in a church talk about honesty...how lies just gnaw and gnaw at you and have to come out. :0) Hilarious!

That cracks me up that Matt totally lied to you!

I agree-ten years of Nemo had served its purpose. Way to move on!
